Hello!

Well, I got situated here at the BIDMC and connected to the Internet quick as a "zuikis" - bunny. The wireless connection -WiFi - is simply marvelous and it was quick.

I have a lot to say but will limit it to one liners.

I am really grateful for Algis Posius's time and patience in helping me understand the operation of a notebook, wireless hook up and LINKSYS.

This will allow me to continue this journal.

.

The first surprise was DONALD my assigned RN. He was one of my nurses in 2003 for the same operation - I was here in the Vascular Unit. Then Monika, RN popped in, also one of my nurses from 5 years ago.

Monika is from Lithuania and is related somehow to my brother-in-law and lives at / with a very good childhood friend's mother [small world].

Right now I'm listening to "The Lithuanians Voice radio broadcasts - at our PREVIEW OF PROGRAMS - Now I am glad to be able to do this, I have not watched any TV - except what is on our website "The Lithuanians.

It is great to be able to just lay back and hear and view all these programs.

With this capability, I will be able to keep you updated. So far so good just routine care leading toward the Aortic Aneurysm repair Monday. The IV nurse will be in soon to connect the IV connection. The Doctor should be in later to go over some questions. The IV should be hooked up around 4;00Am for hydration.

The Doctor came to examin me. And, about the operation: The new Stint may be installed inside the existing Stint which shifted, slipped own exposing the Aneurysm ]Lucky or what]

I'm off of my blood thinners and other medication so it has become harder to walk around and my breathing is harder from slight exertion. That is why the computer has been such a wonderful outlet for me for all these years.

I thank my wonderful team at "The Lithuanians" who are there whenever I call upon them ....... Maybe this will be a partial explanation of how our wonderful adventure has moved, since the Year 200o.
.
Remember our last major breakthrough was video and that was started about 6 to 7 months before YouTube, aHead of the Curve in innovation and many of you where there....

I hope to get repaired by my wonderful team at BIDMC [Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Boston] and hope to be back home by Friday- July 4. Now you know why they call it Independence Day.

See you then - OR if technology is with me, I may just be able to have a limited broadcast from the hospital or enter a word or two. My portable machine, supplement to Studio "A" [Ateitis - Future] has been upgraded with huge memory, now 4GB of RAM. So You never know. I can even make telephone calls from my notebook, Studio "Acer - A-2"

If there is WiFi, and I am told, there is, I will be able to communicate when able.

Ahead of the CURVE -
We launched an audio media effort in 2001, actual radio broadcasts in January 2004 And with the upgrading or our website we started to play with video in August of 2004 and finally launched - movies-videos by October 2004.

All this was done way in advance o f YouTube.

So, you might say we were ahead of the curve and maybe in many respects we are.

Our members, in particular, Algis Posius, Ray Winskus, Peter Valantinas and I pursued [brainstormed] the goal of Lithuanmian media progress from audio to video. Actually producing our own shows.

This pursuit resulted in what we have today, a Lithuanian MEDIA oriented effort stemming from a Yahoo Group and resulting in the "The Lithuanians Internet Community" - The Lithuanians.

.
We also have excellent - free telephone communication and talk with one another - calls to a land line have a small annual cost [USA and CANADA] and a very small International rate [ calling a land line]. PC TO PC is free all over the Internet - including your next door neighbor.

The Lithuanians: St John's Day - Jonines

St. John's Day (June 24th)

In ancient times, this day was an occasion to pay homage to water, fire and plants. It was also a time to cleanse one's soul as well as to celebrate the summer solstice. However, over time, this holiday lost most of its sacral meaning and only its various festive elements remained.

.

Traditionally, people gathered in beautiful spots such as on hilltops or by rivers to feast and honor men named John (Jonas). A large bonfire and wheel hub on a post were set afire. It was thought that the wider the area that was illuminated by the fire, the better the harvest would be.

.

Young people gathered grasses with which they predicted their futures. Girls also wore wreaths and later set them afloat on rivers and lakes to find out if they would marry or not in the following year. Unmarried young men and women sang, danced and jumped over the remains of the bonfire until daybreak. St. John's Day dew was thought to have many magical healing properties.

.

The dew was also used by village sorceresses for malevolent purposes - for preventing cows from giving milk.
.

The Lithuanians Voice: Interruption

I will be having an operation next week if not earlier.

I have an Aortic Aneurysm that has started to bleed again.

The Stint has moved from the Abdominal wall of my Aorta and a new one has to be installed, immediately. The Surgeon is waiting for the CT film to determine the size of the Stint. As soon as
he knows - I will get a call to come to the hospital, BIDMC - Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
.
The Operation is planned for next week Thursday as of now.
.
However if there is a sudden event, an emergency operation may be needed.

.
About, this condition - first link Aortic Aneurysm.:

The Aneurysm is bleeding internally now, if it gets worse there could be serious consequences.

So, if you do not hear from me - this will be the reason -[Temporary inconvenience-I hope]
