Draugas means Friend in Lithuanian.
In the past several weeks numerous well wishes and sentiments were received by me from may FRIENDS - DRAUGAI. I'm sure my recovery was so swift [almost Instant] because of it.
Today I received an extra ordinary card that exemplifies the many friends and friendships I have been fortunate to develop over the years. This card was not just from one very caring friend. It summarises all the "friendships" over the years.
The item above is called a "Juosta" in Lithuanian and has been a way of showing appreciation to someone at a particular time and occasion. I have received several of these in my lifetime. One last year was almost seven feet long and was hand made in Lithuania.
This one today is exactly seven inches long and the card said:
"Raimundukai, Mano Druagas, Linkiu Sveikatos Tau."
"Raymond, My Friend, I Wish you Health."
I took the Juosta and added the Yellow - "Draugas" - Yellow represents the "Bounty" of Lithuania -the harvest.

My thanks for the accidental test that revealed the reappearance of my 2003 Aortic Aneurysm.
The repair went very well - easy in fact. But, without this accidental test, the events could have gone another fatal way.
