No visas required to U.S. beginning November 17, strict procedure remains
Vilnius, Oct 30 - Michael Chertoff, United States Secretary of Homeland Security, paying a working visit to Lithuania officially confirmed on Thursday that Lithuanian citizens would be allowed to enter the U.S. without visas as of November 17.
However, requirements under the U.S. Visa Waiver Program will remain strict. Individuals will have to register in the Electronic System for Travel Authorization and even when the authorization is received, there will be no guarantee that the citizens will be allowed to enter the country. Moreover, only citizens with bio metrical passports will be able to go to the U.S. It will be possible to spend up to 90 days in the U.S.
