While the WEST is preoccupied with the Olympics for two weeks, followed by the US political conventions for two weeks, the US Congress on vacation for four more weeks, RUSSIA takes advantage of the timing to invade its Democratic neighbor, Georgia.
This is typical of the RUSSIAN mentality. Seems they have a feeling that no one will notice what is going on through the SMOG of Beijing.
What would happen if a foreign "mosquito" flew into Middle Eastern Air space. Would Patriot missiles knock it out of the air. Hmmmm!!
Since NATO forces are only a few miles away - YES Georgia abuts Turkey - Maybe peacekeeping forces can be sent in to assist Russia's peace keep role. Georgia has applied for NATO membership. Will NATO act in a peacekeeping roll? OR will, someone blow the arsses out of the area by calling their bluff and backing Georgia's Democratic government and people. Are there any volunteers?
RUSSIAN HACKERS have also taken over Georgian Websites, making Internet communication difficult. Shades of the KGB and earlier NKVD that devastated the Baltics in the 1940's with Liberation overtures, also Democratic countries, that lost their Independence for 50 years at the hans of the Soviet [Russians]. History repeats itself. Don't let this happen - rattle some cages.
WILL THE WORLD SLEEP AGAIN - Where will the European Union be? Or are there too many white flags of victory waving already - complacent - apathetic.
