The Lithuanians Voice - A few Words of Thanks

I never expected this BlogSpot to go too far, or too far beyond those that have JOINED "The Lithuanians Yahoo Group."

This Blog approach has become a very flexible way of bringing our archive materials from our web site "The Lithuanians" to those interested in what we do.

The recent "Movie" presentations were a Huge Pleasant surprise. Our viewership was enormous and the bandwidth for three days exceeded 9 of the 10 previous months. So we were able to meet your curiosity and interest. Another movie or two will be attempted.

Recently we ran into a few problems which may not be resolved for a while. Trying to solve the major broadcast issue will take some time. Our Radio Broadcasts and Television Broadcasts have run into a major glitch - in that many can no longer hear or view what is brought forward. The reason for this is still a mystery, but we will solve it.

So, several alternatives have been developed, but still using the POWER of our website. Several lengthy productions have been developed, too large for Google, Yahoo, YouTube etc. One movie was in the 700MB range.

Some you you may not know this, But, we had our programs on the Internet 6 months to a year before YouTube was launched [Video].

And our "The Lithuanians Voice Radio Broadcasts" have been on the air since December 2003. Well over 1,000 radio broadcasts aired on the Internet. And, for those that can still hear them, they are still available.

Now there is another problem slowing things down. I have been very lucky. I have passed my 9TH Anniversary - my second chance, 1999.

My battery in my Defibrillator has reached a point where it has to be replaced. The Defibrillator has been on guard since December 8, 1999. So on December 12 a little work will be done at the BIDMC [Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center] so I can keep on ticking like that Energizer Bunny that you may have seen many times on TV.

Along with other recent events, I have had to slow down more than I like. However, the website will continue as long as there is the energy. And the BlogSpot will bring forward Lietuvybe - That Lithuanian Spirit whenever possible.

The Major Programs are too Big to showcase openly on the Internet. This is the reason we have the MEMBER AREA that supports our efforts by Subscription to help with overall operating costs. Social Security can not come close to cover operations. So If you are so inclined, Subscribe or lend some Support to what we do.

There may be a slight slowdown until all cylinders are back to work, my apologies.

However, an effort will be made to bring you what you seek and we hope to surprise you sometimes.
