See the story of Lithuanian Partisans who fought the Soviets in defiance of their takeover of Lithuania - Defiance: Vienui Vieni - Utterly Alone 1944 - 1953.
There is also a new movie release entitles "Defiance" depicting Belarusian Jews who fought the Nazi war machine. This movie was filmed in Lithuania about 100 miles from the actual location in 1941.
The two movies have similarities of survival and freedom.
