The Lithuanians: Patriotic Freedom VS Arrogant Dominance

I will share with you what I wrote to our interactive email Group, "The Lithuanians." You can find a link to Our Group at our website - visit CONTACT US tab.

I wrote.
"Thinking back to the days prior to Lithuania's Reestablishment of Independence, around the late 1970's, I had to make a telephone call appointment two weeks in advance and the Soviets charged around $7.00 a minute. AND THE CALL WAS MONITORED, LISTENED IN ON.

Now a telephone call can be made via the Internet for free PC to PC , or as low as $.04 a minute to a land line in Lithuania.

Isn't Freedom, and Democracy wonderful.

Keep this in mind. Don't let Big Brother ever do your thinking for you as in Soviet Times.
It is starting to creep in - don't be lured into a trap.

What I just wrote is "Non Political" - it is what happened in the past when people were "hoodwinked" by a few very clever men. Know your history of the 20Th century and compare
events then and now.

Value your Life, Liberty and Happiness as defined.

It is never easy, There are always challenges.
If it was easy, Life would be boring and we would not be Free.
Others would hold our destiny in their grasp.

CONTINUED
While away from Studio "A" I had a few moments
to reflect. Reflect on how LUCKY I am, we are - THOSE that were
the beneficiaries of what their parents did some years ago.

That is, choose Freedom vs oppression and the hard choice
some made to stand their ground in Lithuania and fight for Freedom.

Both decisions were difficult and sound for their own reasons.
Both were Patriots. Families were separated for half a century.

One to preserve Lithuanian culture out side a sphere of dominance and control,
by emigrating elsewhere and fighting for Lithuania's Freedom.

The other to Fight for Independence of the Home Land as the communists
crossed Lithuania's borders, invaded and took over the country and ruled
it for almost 50 years.

Eventually, Lithuania was the first Soviet Republic to just walk out.
Sort of, "Willed Out" of the control of Big Brother - this WILL was so strong
that the oppressor could just not stop it.

A LESSON to be learned

A HISTORY LESSON that should not be forgotten
and that should not be allowed to repeat again.

Having gone through it, and studied History,
there seems to be a rise of similar circumstances
where some think they know better and want to make
decisions on our behalf - "Don't Worry We Will Take Good Care of YOU [Comrade]."

The complete ARROGANCE -
Undemocratic Arrogance.

The Snake Oil Salesmen -
