PANORAMA: Monday Evening News
LABAS RYTAS - is available, waiting for the latest edition

I had my fill of Koldunai for supper last night.
Mine were with mushrooms inside instead of meat, with sauteed
onions, diced bacon and sour cream, [Must have sour cream]

Hmmm Great.

If you want to make something similar, get frozen
Ravioli at your supper market and add the condiments
I mentioned. Not the same but very good.
[Shhhh this may be a sacrilege if Mama hears about this]

A good Koldunas has the right meat combination inside and is hand made.
You can get won ton pasta squares to save time and mess

Filling [Secret for a great filling]:
[half] lean ground beef
[half] ground pork
add a little  marjoram
1 tbsp salt
Pepper to taste

The filling, ask your meat department to grind both meats together and they will give a ground meat combination. This will save you mixing time at no additional cost.

Making hand made Koldunai will give you a terrific taste from the meat juices inside the shell. After you drain separate the Koldunai so they won't stick. Re heat- micro wave or freeze excess for another day in a zip lock baggie. Make enough for another day or two - Meatless, mushroom, cheese, potato - even lobster - or crab fillings. The uncooked Koldunai you will freeze, sprinkle some flour on them so they won't stick and will be ready to boil fozen next time. Put enough Koldunai in the zip lock baggie for a meal. If you make enough, make several baggies - one for each meal - plan a head,

Substitute Turkey bacon during lent or if you are a diabetic like me.

How do you like it?

Try some tonight! Labai skanu!  Very tasty!
