The Dixieland jazz was originated in 2002 by the contemporary leader Raimundas Arnasius and successfully disgorged into Lithuania’s cultural life. The basic musical style, which is propagated by the band, is the New Orleans style and jazz standards.
The Dixieland jazz is gigging in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda and in other towns and places. The repertoire includes various jazz music styles, blues, dixieland, pop covers, which are processed into the Dixieland style. The band performs the compositions of Gillespie, J. Brown, B. Bernie, K. Casey, D. Ellington, L. Armstrong, S. Williams, M. Vaitkevicius, T. Adomavičius. All the members of the band are proffesional musicians, who play in various musical bands and work as educators.
