The Lithuanians: Short Subjects: The Potato - Bulve

The Lithuanians: Short Subjects;

The Potato - Bulve

We will continue to bring you programming from Lithuanian National Television during this Holiday period in the form of "Short Subjects" - that may be of interest.

.

This segment is about the "potato" - a most important and relevant source of nourishment. Where would we be without potato pancakes, kugelis and cepelinai [with sour cream of course]. Did you know the potato has it origins from South American Andes Mountains and found its way to Europe by way of Spain. Another, important fact, one of the best potato varieties originated from Derry, New Hampshire -where a very hearty strain was developed that survived severe weather conditions ..... a most interesting story, The Potato.

.

This is from Lithuanian World Television LTV World - now available by special hookup over North America - from a satellite signal.

.

More will be coming, including music videos.
