Birštonas was first mentioned in chronicles of the Teutonic Knights in 1382 and described as a "a farmstead at the salty water".
Birštonas is surrounded by pine forests and the Nemunas River, which has very good mineral waters for the ill. The tour will show you another example of a Town that is as modern as it is old.
