Senelis Saltis ir Vasara - Santa Claus and Summer REMOVED

Senelis Saltis Ir Vasara Removed explains why this Jewel of Lithuanian animation had to be removed from YouTube. It is sad that a video that entertained Lithuanians during the Soviet ocupation had to be removed because the Russians wanted to retain possession of the Lithuanian version of this film. It had nothing to do with a disgruntled college student from Chicago [ tom4stream] who did not know of the arrangement with LRT these many years..
Senelis Saltis [Kaledu Senelis] ir Vasara
- Santa Claus and Summer

This was our most watched video on YouTube.
This is the actual title of this animation. View the entire program. You are sure to love it if its the first time or even the 10th time or even more.

This was one of the earliest videos uploaded on YouTube. Actually this video appeared much earlier on Yahoo Videos
and even earlier at "THE LITHUANIANS WEBSITE" - this fourth
version of the website began in June 2004 - small works were attempted and started getting underway by the Summer of 2005

Numerous request have been sent to me regarding this project and how this all began.

A must see, Outstanding story in Lithuanian from the Soviet Occupation Period of How Santa Claus found out about Summer and the little children invited him to return and see what Summer is like. Excellent video. Outstanding graphics.
- Today Santa Claus is called Kalėdų Senelis - actually Lithuanians always called him Kalėdų Senelis. Since despite the Imposition of the Occupation, Lithuanians maintained their 500 or so year old traditions.

Christmas Eve, Kucios was always celebrated on December 24 and Christmas December 25. Kucios, Christmas Eve is one of the most important Lithuanian Traditions. The Soviets faithless used December 31, as you will note in this animation.

This video my grandchildren love to see each year. Remember it next Holiday Season.
